NABUCCO ISLAND RESORT

EXTRA DIVERS NABUCCO
Diving without compromise – perfect for those who want to dive up to four times a day and have a spectacular channel right on their doorstep.
While there is no house reef here, all dives are boat-based, taking you directly to the best dive sites in the region. The Extra Divers dive centre is conveniently located right at the island’s jetty and is fully equipped with a reception area, dedicated drying and equipment room, rental gear, and rinse tanks.
This means your dive adventure starts right at the water’s edge – no long walks or waiting around.
From our resort, daily dive trips depart aboard our three comfortable dive boats. In addition to single dives, we regularly offer half-day and full-day excursions, night dives, and early morning dives – perfect for those who want to fully immerse themselves in the underwater world.
A must-dive site is the world-famous “Big Fish Country” (also known as “The Channel”), which is just a 5-minute boat ride away. This top-tier dive site can be explored multiple times during your stay, promising unforgettable encounters. Here, you can often spot various shark species, and if you’re lucky, you’ll witness the awe-inspiring sight of a barracuda school with over 1,000 fish – an experience that will stay with you long after your trip. Large jacks, tuna, and the impressive bumphead parrotfish also frequent these waters.
The Maratua Atoll, just 5 to 20 minutes away by boat, boasts more than 20 spectacular dive sites. Here, you’ll find eagle rays, leopard sharks, reef sharks, large stingrays, barracudas, and one of the world’s largest populations of sea turtles. With a bit of luck, you might also encounter hammerhead sharks, large tuna, dolphins, or even the elusive sailfish.
Macro enthusiasts are also in for a treat – the nearby Kakaban is renowned for its vibrant coral reefs and incredible biodiversity, making it one of the best macro dive spots in the world.
And let’s be honest – how many divers can say they have a Big Fish Country practically on their doorstep?
