EXTRA DIVERS NUNUKAN
The Extra Divers dive center is located directly on the island’s boat dock. and offers reception, as well as drying and equipment room, rental equipment and wash basins. The diving center and boats are equipped with all the necessary devices (oxygen, emergency kit), the next doctor is in Berau, the next decompression chamber is in Balikpapan. All divemasters and instructors are trained in first aid. The house reef begins just a few steps from the dive center and stretches for 4 km along the island.
Procedure & diving areas
Diving takes place directly on the house reef. The house reef, a steep wall that leaves new impressions on practically every meter, can be dived along its entire length; can easily be brought to the desired entry point by boat, descend into the intoxicating underwater world around the island and at the end of the dive let yourself be shuttled back to the snow-white sandy beach. The legendary dive sites such as Sangalakki, Kakaban or the Big Fish Country flow channel are offered in half or day trips.
From macro to schooling fish to fantastic vegetation, everything is possible! The blaze of colors is intoxicating, soft and hard corals cover large areas of the walls. An atoll that is 30 minutes south of the island is still completely unexplored and awaits divers who are eager to explore and adventure.
The diving center and resort are under the German-speaking management of Beat Waefler and Silvia Parpan.
The international team speaks German, English and Indonesian. It is trained according to SSI and PADI standards from Open Water Diver to Divemaster.
