Procedure & diving areas
The three diving boats offer daily trips to individual dives, as well as regular half-day and full-day tours, night dives and early morning dives.
You can find top diving spots practically in front of the bungalow door. The world-class diving spot “Big Fish Country” or “The Channel” can be reached in less than 5 minutes and can therefore be dived several times during the stay! A real highlight for Nabucco guests! Different types of sharks are regularly spotted here and the almost guaranteed swarm of barracudas with more than 1000 animals is an unforgettable sight! Big mackerel, tuna and buffalo head parrot fish also pass by here regularly. In addition, more than 20 dive sites in the atoll of Maratua are only 5 to 20 minutes away by boat from the small island. Schools of eagle rays, as well as leopard sharks, reef sharks, large stingrays, barracudas, and one of the world’s largest populations of turtles can be found regularly. Sightings of hammerhead sharks, large tuna, and dolphins or sailfish are possible. Macro lovers can also pursue their passion uninhibited. Sangalakki is about 60 minutes away by boat. On this beautifully overgrown reef one encounters a huge diversity of species, in addition to ghost moray eels and mantis shrimp, one also frequently encounters reef sharks, leopard sharks, turtles and almost all year round manta rays with spans of up to 5 meters, including a few specimens of the rare black manta rays. The non-nettle jellyfish from the uninhabited island of Kakaban, which is 50 minutes away, are a unique natural wonder and you can also visit Maratua, and the flora and fauna of the extremely rare brackish water (salt and fresh water mixture) jellyfish lake with four different types of jellyfish invites you to discover. With its healthy coral population and biodiversity, this diving area is rightly one of the best in the world – who can say that they have “Big Fish Country” on their doorstep?
